Banff - Extending across 6,641 square kilometres (2,564 square miles) of tranquil valleys, mountains, forests, meadows, rivers and pristine lakes. became Canada's first and the world's third national park in 1885.

Travellers from all around the Province of Alberta, Canada and the rest of the world consider Banff National Park as one of the world's premier destination spots, offering many vacation and adventure opportunities.

The summer brings warm, sunny days for hiking, biking, camping, climbing and photography. The winter sees crispy, snowy days (possibly with temperatures way below freezing) for tracking, skating, and alpine and nordic skiing.

Watch for animals on the roadways in Banff. Drive with extreme care and be prepared to avoid a collision with animals and other vehicles at all times. Be especially cautious at dusk and dawn, when visibility is poor and animals are most active.
