Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, spanning 10,878 km² (4200 mi²).
It is located in the province of Alberta, in the country of Canada. just north of Banff National Park and west of the capitol city of Edmonton.
This park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 for the mountain landscapes containing mountain peaks, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, canyons and limestone caves as well as fossils found here.
Summer days are long, but the summer season is relatively short. July is the warmest month with a mean daily maximum temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius. January is the coldest month with a mean maximum temperature of -9.4 degrees Celsius.
Jasper National Park attracts close to 2,000,000 visitors a year.
