Mount Everest, - the highest mountain on Earth, as measured by the height of its summit above sea level. Mount Everest is part of the Himalaya mountain range in High Asia, is located on the border between Nepal and Tibet, China.

There have been more than 200 deaths on the mountain, where conditions are so difficult that most corpses have been left where they fell; some are visible from standard climbing routes.

The mountain has been found to be 8,848 m (29,028 feet) high.

Mt. Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the northeast ridge from Tibet. Of the two main routes, the southeast ridge is technically easier and was the route used by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
