Red Canyon is one of the most scenic areas of the Claron Formation. Eroded by wind and water, this colorful limestone formation is a popular spot for sightseers, photographers, hikers, horseback riders and bicyclists alike.

The red limestone formations of Red Canyon along Scenic Byway 12 are a wonderful entree to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Red Canyon occupies almost two million acres (8,000 km²) and extends for about 170 miles (270 km) across southern Utah.

Temperatures in the area range from the 90's in the summer to the 40's in the winter.
